Sue Davies (me) has been consciously on a path of personal growth and self development since 1990. Taking many routes through energy work, holistic therapies and healing modalities, has resulted in where she is today with Allowing Joy.
Discovering Sue, who is she?
1991 was that pivotal year in my life. I (Sue) found myself in Australia, alone, broke and something of an emotional wreck. The relationship I had been in over there had crashed and burnt – messily. It was way before the times of mobile phones, internet or email. Letters from friends at home often took as long as 10 days to reach me. I soon realised that whatever happened next was up to me.
Whilst waiting to sell my camper-van in Perth (and return to the UK), I hung around the area of Freemantle Markets and various wonderful 2nd hand bookshops. It was here that I first discovered books by Dr Wayne Dyer and Louise Hay, was introduced to various complementary therapies and a more holistic approach to life. The Phoenix started to rise!
It’s certainly not been all plain sailing since, plenty more bumps in the road but what’s that saying? “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”…. Indeed! I choose instead, to cultivate a different way of viewing life challenges. Do we want to be a victim of circumstance or turn it into something powerful.
I’ll be sharing more of my story in my forthcoming book. Subscribers to my Newsletter will hear first about pre-order offers.
Now Sue Davies
I’m always inspired by this quote:
“And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same”
by Marianne Williamson from A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles
Usui Reiki Master Teacher (2000) Reiki runs through me like the blood in my veins. I cannot turn it off or remove it from me, nor would I want to. Reiki has been a constant (even when I’ve ignored it) in my life since 1997. I never planned or expected to ‘do’ anything with it, learning Reiki for myself seemed an easy and cost effective option to going for treatments as I had been doing. Instead, it became a wonderful gift to share with others; Treatments, Teaching all levels both 1:1 and in workshops, Share groups, Mentoring, as well as my own healing journey.
Advanced Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) Practitioner. Again, I didn’t intend to learn EFT but a strange twist of events found me attending EFT Level 1 workshop. I was curious initially, then I realised it was part of the path.
Alongside running successful Reiki and EFT practices. I’ve been self-employed in private practice as a Foot Health Practitioner for the last 20+ years. Set up a thriving Chiropody Clinic within a Holistic Health Centre as well as providing home visits to private houses, care homes and for 2 years a local Hospice. It’s all very grounding and I’ve learnt such a lot from my clients, many of whom are in their twilight years. I wonder what our 80 year old self would like to tell us? Visit my Sue Davies Foot care pages.
I’m also qualified in Advanced Reflexology and as a Tai Chi Instructor. I’m no longer practising either of these but they still contribute to my understanding of energy and the human body.
And loads of other stuff… You’ll have to read my book 🙂
Now, I’ve settled in beautiful Shropshire and am married to Mr Davies, my soul-mate (it took us quite a number of years to find each other). Enjoying my garden, walking the hills and joining Paul on a motorbike are things I love to do in my spare time.
I am indebted to the work of Gary Craig, Wallace D. Wattles, Mike Dooley, Louise L. Hay, Esther Hicks & Abraham, Tony Robbins, Dr Wayne Dyer, to name a few and I acknowledge them and many, many more, as my Teachers and inspiration.
